Anna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett has the unique ability to travel through time and space, which brings him into Anna’s life, and with him a new world of adventure and possibility.

As their relationship deepens, the two face the reality that time may knock Bennett back to where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate, what consequences they can bear in order to stay together, and whether their love can stand the test of time.

Fresh, exciting, and deeply romantic, Time Between Us is a stunning, spellbinding debut from an extraordinary new voice in YA fiction.

Book Review:
Okay, I admit it, I got the fuzzies.

Time Between Us is definitely a romance-centered book. To be completely honest, the time travel part of this book is minimal compared to the romance. However, I felt like the romance, for the most part, was still well-written, and the book ended up being a quick and enjoyable read!

Anna and Bennett’s relationship, to me, was kind of like vanilla ice cream. To me, that’s not really a bad thing – after all, the ice cream is still sweet, although, a little plain and normal! But I guess that’s what I especially liked about it. I know a lot of readers will not agree with me here, but sometimes I just find it really hard to connect to, let’s say, a paranormal romance book, especially if a lot of the scenes consist of hot make out scenes with some mysterious paranormal creature. For me, especially if the romance isn’t developed enough, even if the scene is fun to read, I find that the scene is forgettable, since there are just so many scenes like that out there. Even if the love story in Time Between Us was almost like a dream, it was a good picture of what a happy high school couple were, which to me, is more memorable than a large series of makeouts.

I also liked how the author portrayed the more fantastical part of Bennett’s powers – it always kept me wanting for more! The idea of travelling back and forth, being able to change the past, and even travelling around the world was fascinating! I was especially captivated by Bennett’s teleportation powers, mostly because of the beautiful scenery Stone was able to portray – I would love to have that power ^__^ The choices Anna are forced to make in regard to utilizing Bennett’s ability also presented an interesting dilemma, and made me think a little.

However, sometimes the plot seemed a bit too… easy, I suppose? Some parts of it seemed a little too simple for it to realistically happen. The ending, for example, happened relatively quickly, with a couple of explanations along the way. There was some grief from Anna, but then suddenly the solution came. And as much as I loved the sweetness from the romance, from a realistic point of view, a guy like Bennett existing, who is so nice and willing to deal with questions and anxiety, seemed a bit unlikely.

As a whole though, Time Between Us was still a fun read for me! The romance took its time to develop and eventually grew on me, and I loved exploring Bennett’s powers. Fans of contemporary romance and paranormal romance alike may enjoy this book, especially if you’re looking for something more romantic, with some captivating fantastical elements (:
